Project Background: Genomic mechanisms of environmental adaptation are an understudied but quickly developing field of study. We are interested in understanding which changes in the genome occur over time and space to enable the persistence of lizards in different climates. The project will contribute to a study of genomic changes across the landscape and different years of collection in the Tenerife lizard Gallotia galloti, by examining the length of telomeres in populations from different environments and time periods.
